Why Climatech

Invest in Reliable Heating with Pensacola’s Trusted Furnace Dealer

Precise Heating Load Calculations for Your Home’s Specific Needs

Installing an oversized furnace wastes fuel and cycles inefficiently. Installing an undersized unit leaves cold spots and runs constantly. We calculate your home’s actual heating load considering square footage, insulation levels, air sealing, window count and direction, and climate zone. Only then do we recommend a furnace size. Family-owned for 48 years, we’ve learned that correct sizing is the foundation of comfort and efficiency. We never oversell capacity to inflate the job price.

American Standard Dealer with Premium Equipment Access

We’re an authorized American Standard Customer Care Dealer with preferred relationships for Mitsubishi Electric systems. That means access to the latest high-efficiency heating models, manufacturer rebates, extended dealer-backed warranties, and factory technical support. When you purchase from us, you’re getting genuine equipment with manufacturer backing — not surplus or refurbished units that compromise warranty and longevity.

NATE-Certified Installation Technicians Following OEM Protocols

Installation quality separates furnaces that run efficiently for 20 years from those that fail prematurely. Our NATE-certified technicians follow manufacturer specifications exactly: proper ductwork connection and sealing, correct gas line sizing and pressure regulation, electrical wiring to code, thermostat integration and calibration, and comprehensive safety testing. We don’t take shortcuts on the work customers can’t see — that’s where long-term reliability is won.

Energy-Efficient Equipment Selection Matched to Your Budget

Modern furnaces are dramatically more efficient than units from 15+ years ago. They recover more heat from gas combustion, cycle more precisely, and use better insulation. We recommend equipment with efficiency ratings (AFUE — Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency) that match your home’s needs and your budget. A slightly higher initial investment in a high-efficiency unit often pays for itself within a few heating seasons through lower gas bills.

Flexible Financing to Make Efficient Equipment Affordable

A new furnace is a major investment. We partner with Synchrony and Wells Fargo to offer flexible financing so you’re not forced to choose a cheaper, less efficient unit just to manage upfront cost. Spread your installation over manageable monthly payments, and efficiency savings will help offset the monthly cost.

Our Process

How Our Furnace Installation Process Works

Step 1: Free Home Assessment and Heating Load Calculation

You call us or request a consultation online, and we schedule a convenient time to visit your home. During the assessment, our technician measures your home’s square footage, checks insulation levels in the attic and basement, examines air sealing around windows and doors, reviews past winter heating bills, and discusses comfort complaints. We perform a detailed Manual S load calculation — the industry standard for furnace sizing — and present equipment options with efficiency ratings, warranty terms, and installed pricing. You’ll understand the heating requirement and see equipment side by side. This consultation is pressure-free; it’s your roadmap to deciding.

What happens: You receive a detailed report with heating load (in BTU), equipment options with AFUE ratings and pros/cons, pricing, warranty coverage, and estimated monthly heating costs with financing included.

Step 2: Equipment Selection, Ductwork Evaluation, and Financing Approval

Once you’ve chosen a furnace model, we order equipment and handle financing paperwork. We conduct a complete ductwork inspection to confirm existing ducts are sized correctly for the new system. We measure duct dimensions, check for leaks, and verify that supply runs to each room are properly balanced. We also verify your gas line pressure capacity — some older homes have 1/2-inch gas lines that can’t supply adequate flow to a modern furnace, requiring line upsizing. We check your electrical panel for adequate circuit capacity and confirm the existing thermostat is compatible. If ductwork modifications or gas line upgrades are needed, we quote them upfront. Financing is arranged with Synchrony or Wells Fargo, and you’ll know exact monthly payments before we proceed.

What happens: Equipment is ordered, financing is finalized, and installation is scheduled (typically 1–4 weeks depending on availability and any ductwork preparation work).

Step 3: Gas Line and Electrical Preparation (if needed)

Before installation day, if your current gas line is undersized or your electrical panel needs a new dedicated circuit for the furnace, we complete this work. These upgrades ensure the new furnace operates safely and at rated efficiency. We verify all connections meet code and are properly pressure-tested. Electrical work is performed by licensed electricians following local building codes. You’ll know all prep work is complete before the furnace arrives.

What happens: Gas and electrical systems are upgraded and tested. Installation day proceeds without delays or surprises.

Step 4: Old Furnace Removal and Equipment Placement

On installation day, our crew arrives with tools and equipment. We safely remove your old furnace: we shut down the gas supply, disconnect electrical connections, remove the old unit carefully, and clean the installation space. The new furnace is positioned in the same location (or repositioned if it improves ductwork connections or service access). We verify the furnace sits level, is clear of obstacles, and has adequate clearance for air intake and exhaust venting.

What happens: Your old heating system is removed by mid-morning. New equipment is positioned, level, and ready for final connections.

Step 5: Gas, Electrical, and Ductwork Connections

Our crew makes all final connections. Gas lines are connected using proper fittings and tested for leaks — no guessing whether a joint leaks. Gas pressure is verified with a manometer to confirm it matches the manufacturer’s requirements. Electrical connections follow code — proper breaker sizing matched to the furnace’s amperage draw, grounded outlets, and clearly labeled circuits. Ductwork is connected to the furnace plenum, and all duct seams are sealed with mastic and metal tape to prevent air leaks. The thermostat is integrated — replaced if needed for compatibility with the new furnace’s digital controls. Every connection is tested before we move to safety verification.

What happens: All connections are completed, tested, and documented. The new furnace is fully integrated with your home’s heating system.

Step 6: Safety Testing, Commissioning, and System Calibration

We run the furnace through complete heating cycles and perform comprehensive safety tests. We verify gas pressure is correct, test the pilot light or ignition system, measure flue gas composition (to confirm safe combustion and rule out carbon monoxide), verify blower operation and airflow temperature rise, and test all safety switches. We calibrate the thermostat so heating triggers at your desired temperature and cycles reliably. The furnace must pass all safety and performance tests before we consider installation complete.

What happens: You hear the furnace ignite smoothly, feel warm air flow from your vents, and see all readings confirm safe, efficient operation.

Step 7: Homeowner Training, Warranty Documentation, and Maintenance Planning

We explain how to operate your new furnace and thermostat, show you how to change filters and how often, and walk you through your owner’s manual. We provide complete warranty documentation — the manufacturer’s parts warranty covering the heat exchanger and components, our one-year labor warranty, and instructions for registering with the manufacturer to activate full coverage. We discuss our maintenance plans so you can schedule annual fall tune-ups to keep your new furnace running efficiently and safely for its full service life.

What happens: You get a complete homeowner packet, training on your new furnace, and confidence that your investment is protected.

Frequent Questions

Frequently Asked Questions About Furnace Installation

We perform a Manual S heating load calculation specific to your home. We measure square footage, assess insulation in the attic and basement, check air sealing around windows and doors, review your past winter heating bills, and account for your climate zone. Only then do we determine the correct furnace size in BTU. This beats guessing from square footage alone; a properly sized furnace heats evenly and operates efficiently.

We specialize in American Standard furnaces and also install Mitsubishi Electric, Goodman, Ameristar, LG, and Daikin equipment. American Standard offers excellent reliability, efficiency, and strong manufacturer support. We’ll recommend the brand and model that matches your home’s heating needs, efficiency goals, and budget.

Most installations are completed in one day. Simple replacements where gas lines and ductwork are already adequate finish faster. Installations requiring gas line upgrades, ductwork modifications, or electrical work might take two days or be split across prep and installation days. We estimate time during your consultation so you can plan.

AFUE (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency) measures what percentage of fuel energy actually heats your home versus what’s lost up the flue. An 80% AFUE furnace wastes 20% of the gas it burns; a 95%+ AFUE furnace captures far more of that heat. Higher-efficiency furnaces cost more upfront but use less gas, and the lower bills help recover the premium over the life of the system. We’ll help you choose efficiency that balances upfront cost and long-term savings.

Usually, yes—if ducts are properly sized and in good condition. During your consultation, we inspect ducts for leaks, improper sizing, and contamination. If ducts are leaky or undersized, we recommend sealing or upsizing sections. Properly sealed ductwork ensures your new furnace delivers its rated efficiency. We discuss duct work upfront so you know the full scope.

Cost depends on equipment brand, efficiency rating, and any gas line or ductwork modifications. We quote all costs upfront during your consultation with no surprises. Many customers finance their installation to spread cost over time, which often makes the monthly payment manageable when combined with energy savings from a more efficient system.

Yes. We partner with Synchrony and Wells Fargo to offer flexible financing. You choose terms that fit your budget, and we calculate monthly payments showing how equipment efficiency savings help offset financing costs. Many homeowners find that energy savings from modern, efficient furnaces make monthly payments easy to manage.

Your furnace carries the manufacturer’s equipment warranty covering the heat exchanger and other components against defects. Our labor is warranted for one year—if our installation work fails, we fix it at no charge. Extended warranty options are available if you want protection beyond the standard period. We’ll explain all warranty options and coverage terms during your consultation.

A functioning, modern heating system is a significant selling point, especially in homes where a furnace is approaching end-of-life. Buyers appreciate knowing the heating system is reliable and won’t require immediate replacement. A new furnace also qualifies your home for lower insurance rates in some cases and demonstrates good home maintenance to potential buyers.

We follow OEM installation protocols exactly: proper gas line sizing and pressure regulation, correct ductwork connections and sealing, electrical wiring to code, nitrogen purging of gas lines, and comprehensive safety testing. We test gas pressure, measure combustion safety, verify airflow and temperature rise, and calibrate thermostats before leaving. These details—the invisible work—determine long-term reliability and efficiency.
