Correct Equipment Sizing Makes the Difference

Installing an oversized or undersized unit wastes money and comfort. Too-large units short-cycle and fail prematurely; too-small units can’t cool your home on peak days. We perform Manual J load calculations specific to your home’s size, insulation, window orientation, and climate zone. Family-owned for 48 years, we’ve learned that proper sizing is the single most important factor in AC performance and longevity. We never oversell capacity just to increase the job size.

American Standard & Mitsubishi Electric Premium Dealer Status

We’re an authorized Customer Care Dealer for American Standard and a Diamond Mitsubishi Electric Dealer. That means access to the latest high-efficiency models, manufacturer rebates, and extended dealer-backed warranties. When you buy from us, you’re getting genuine equipment with factory support — not closeout units or gray-market systems that leave you stranded after installation.

NATE-Certified Installation Technicians with Proper Tools

Installation quality determines whether your system runs efficiently for its full service life or starts failing years early. Our NATE-certified technicians follow OEM installation protocols precisely: proper refrigerant lines with nitrogen purging, all connections soldered or brazed under vacuum, electrical wiring to code, thermostat integration, and final pressurization testing. We don’t take shortcuts on the invisible work that determines longevity.

Load Calculations and Equipment Selection for Your Specific Home

Every home is different. A 1,500-square-foot home on the coast faces different cooling loads than a 2,000-square-foot inland home with better insulation. We measure your space, assess insulation, check window solar gain, and run detailed load calculations. Only then do we recommend equipment. You’ll understand why the system we propose is the right choice for your home — and your budget.

Financing to Make Premium Equipment Affordable

A high-quality, properly-sized AC system is an investment. We partner with Synchrony and Wells Fargo to offer flexible financing so you’re not forced to choose a cheaper, undersized unit just because of upfront cost. Spread your installation over manageable monthly payments, and enjoy efficiency savings that offset the monthly cost.

Our Process

How Our AC Installation Process Works

Step 1: Free Home Consultation and Load Calculation

You call us or submit your request online, and we schedule a convenient time to visit your home. During the consultation, our technician measures your space, examines insulation and air sealing, checks window count and orientation, reviews your current energy bills, and asks about comfort complaints. We perform a detailed Manual J load calculation — the industry standard for sizing — and present equipment options with efficiency ratings, warranty terms, and installed cost. You’ll understand the sizing rationale and see equipment specs side by side. No pressure; this is your roadmap to deciding.

What happens: You get a detailed report with cooling load (in BTU), three equipment options with pros and cons, pricing, warranty, and estimated monthly costs with financing included.

Step 2: Equipment Selection and Financing Approval

Once you’ve decided on a system, we handle equipment ordering and financing paperwork. We confirm delivery dates, verify compatibility with your existing ductwork (or discuss duct modifications if needed), and answer final questions about the installation schedule. If you’re financing, we work with Synchrony or Wells Fargo to get pre-approval and explain monthly payments. You’ll know exactly what to expect on installation day.

What happens: Equipment is ordered, financing is finalized, and we schedule installation for a specific date (typically one to four weeks depending on availability).

Step 3: Pre-Installation Ductwork and Electrical Inspection

Before installation day, we inspect your ductwork and electrical panel. If your ducts are oversized, undersized, or leaky, we identify modifications needed to make the new system work optimally. We verify your breaker panel has capacity for the new unit and that thermostat wiring is compatible. Any necessary duct modifications or panel upgrades are completed before the new unit arrives — no surprises on installation day.

What happens: We document any ductwork sealing, duct upsizing, or electrical work and integrate it into the installation plan.

Step 4: Old System Removal and Equipment Placement

On installation day, our crew arrives ready to work. We drain and recover refrigerant from your old system per EPA regulations. The old indoor coil, outdoor condenser, and ductwork connections are carefully removed. The indoor cabinet or coil is positioned in the same location (or repositioned if needed for efficiency). The outdoor condenser is set on a stable pad, level and clear of debris. All equipment is positioned to maximize airflow and minimize future service access issues.

What happens: Your old system is gone by mid-morning. New equipment is in place, positioned properly, and ready for connection.

Step 5: Refrigerant Lines, Electrical, and Thermostat Integration

Our crew runs new copper refrigerant lines (or replaces existing ones) with proper insulation and support. All connections are brazed under vacuum to prevent contamination. Electrical connections follow code — properly sized breakers, grounded, and labeled. We integrate your thermostat (replacing it if needed for compatibility) and verify control signals work correctly. Every electrical and refrigerant connection is tested before we move to final charging.

What happens: All hidden work is completed, tested, and documented — the work that determines system longevity and efficiency.

Step 6: System Evacuation, Charging, and Commissioning

We evacuate the entire system to remove moisture and air — critical for preventing compressor failure. We charge the system with the correct refrigerant type and weight specified by the manufacturer. We run the system through heating and cooling cycles, measure pressures, check amperage, verify airflow, and confirm thermostat calibration. Your new AC must pass all performance tests before we consider the job complete.

What happens: You hear the compressor start, feel cool air flow, and see all readings confirm the system is operating at peak efficiency.

Step 7: Homeowner Training, Warranty Documentation, and Support

We explain how to operate your new thermostat, adjust settings, change filters (and how often), and recognize any unusual sounds or performance issues. We provide complete warranty documentation — the manufacturer’s equipment warranty for your system, our one-year labor warranty (if anything fails due to our workmanship, we fix it free), and instructions for registering warranties with the manufacturer. We discuss our maintenance plans to keep your new system running optimally for years to come.

What happens: You get a complete homeowner packet, training on your new system, and confidence that your investment is protected.

Frequent Questions

Frequently Asked Questions About AC Installation

Most installations are completed in one day, depending on ductwork modifications and system complexity. Simple replacements where ducts are already sized correctly finish faster. Complex installations involving ductwork redesign or electrical upgrades might take two days. We’ll estimate time during your consultation so you can plan around the work.

System size depends on your home’s cooling load — a calculation based on square footage, insulation, windows, orientation, and climate. A common mistake is oversizing: a unit that’s too large costs more, cycles inefficiently, and fails faster. We perform a Manual J load calculation to determine your home’s actual needs and confirm the exact size, rather than guessing from square footage alone.

We specialize in American Standard and Mitsubishi Electric systems, and we also install Samsung, Goodman, Ameristar, LG, and Daikin equipment. American Standard and Mitsubishi offer excellent efficiency ratings, quiet operation, and strong manufacturer support. We’ll recommend the brand and model that best matches your home, budget, and efficiency goals.

Installed cost depends on equipment brand, system capacity, efficiency rating, and any ductwork modifications. We quote all costs upfront during your consultation, with no surprises. Many customers finance the installation to spread cost over time, which often makes the monthly payment less than the monthly utility savings from a more efficient system.

Yes. We partner with Synchrony and Wells Fargo to offer flexible financing. You can choose terms that fit your budget, and we’ll calculate your monthly payment and show how equipment efficiency savings help offset the financing cost. Many customers find that the energy savings from a high-efficiency system make the monthly payment easy to manage.

Modern AC systems are significantly more efficient than units installed a decade or more ago. Energy efficiency is measured in SEER2 (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating 2) — a higher SEER2 number means lower operating cost. Replacing an aging, low-efficiency unit with a modern high-efficiency system can noticeably lower your monthly cooling bills over the life of the equipment.

Usually, yes — if your ductwork is in good condition and properly sized. During your consultation, we inspect ducts for leaks, improper sizing, or contamination. If ducts are leaky or undersized, we may recommend sealing, upsizing, or replacing sections. Properly sealed ductwork ensures your new system delivers rated efficiency. We’ll discuss duct modifications upfront so you know the full scope.

Your new system carries the manufacturer’s equipment warranty for that model, which typically covers the compressor and major components. Labor is warranted by us for one year — if our installation work fails, we fix it at no charge. Extended warranty coverage is available if you want protection beyond the standard period. We’ll explain all warranty options during your consultation.

An AC system’s primary job is cooling, but a properly maintained system improves indoor air quality. New systems have better filters, more consistent airflow, and improved refrigerant cycling that keeps humidity in check. If air quality is a concern, we can integrate air filtration, UV lights, or humidification into your installation. These add-ons enhance both comfort and health, especially in humid Pensacola.

Quality installation is invisible but critical. We follow OEM procedures exactly: nitrogen purging of lines to prevent moisture, vacuum evacuation to remove air, proper charge weight rather than a visual guess, electrical connections to code, and thermostat calibration. We test pressures, amperage, and airflow before we leave, and we inspect ductwork and seal any leaks we find. These details separate installations that last from those that fail early.
